Hello, I'm John Brower but go by
"jb." I started using my abbreviated name when I was on a project with
five John's on the team. Healthcare is a passion I've possessed since
graduating from nursing school in 1985 but my relationship with technology proceeds
with the purchase of my first computer in 1977.
I've chosen to pursue both
passions as a healthcare technology professional and currently work in the
industry at a hospital system in Dallas, Texas, in data science and
interfacing. Technology in healthcare is increasing and offers the potential to
improve lives. These technologies are costly and contribute to the increasing
cost of care. Reducing costs and improving the quality of care are important
considerations, and data holds the key to finding those solutions.
As a Doctor of Computer Science
in Data Analytics at Colorado Technical University, I explore the science
behind machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence in the
assessment of large biometric datasets. As the population increases and ages,
the need to use intelligent technologies is essential in managing health. The
accumulation of data requires technologies that efficiently process information
and contribute to improved quality of life.
